How to choose a cat litter box

Open or covered?

An open box is easier for airflow and access, while a covered one gives the cat privacy and reduces litter scatter and odour. Cats that like open spaces often prefer the open type.

Size and cleaning

Choose a size big enough for the cat to turn and sit comfortably — a good rule is about one-and-a-half times the cat's length. Clean daily with a dedicated scoop to keep the box fresh and odour-free:
