Purina Veterinary Diets NF - Renal Function has been specifically formulated for adult dogs with chronic kidney failure. This tasty and palatable dry food reduced levels of high quality protein and phosphorus. With a reduced amount of purine and sulphurous amino acids as well as properties of alkalizing urine reduces the formation of urate and cystine stones. If you observe that your dog drinks and urinates more frequently, is lethargic, with loss of weight and appetite and presents an unusual breath, it could suffer from CKD (chronic kidney disease) and your kidneys may not be able to produce concentrated urine. It 'important that the chronic kidney disease is diagnosed by your veterinarian and your dog is fed a diet aimed at the management of CKD. The wrong food can worsen the disease, causing further disturbance.
